The Angel of Colfax

The Angel of Colfax had stopped trying to save people long ago. It wasn’t the fentanyl overdoses, knife fights, or drunken driving accidents that stopped him. It was the one girl that stepped into traffic. Colfax had watched her and saw no reason that she would choose the path she did. Yet she had and he could not comprehend why.

Colfax sat upon the local church’s portal, ponder this and nothing else. He knew she wasn’t in Heaven, and it haunted him.
